Physical
activity is one of the best ways to increase self-esteem.
In children, simple activities (those that can be learned easily such
as dancing) have a much more positive impact on self-esteem than complicated
activities. In young women, cooperative exercises that involve team work
are often more likely to raise self-esteem than competitive ones.
Self-esteem — the view we have of our own worth — is really
important to our well-being. A positive self-image helps us to be better
adjusted and less defensive, to feel more positive and confident in social
situations and to accept others as they are.
