Competition winners Richard Shiel and Barbara Chambers
have a new reason to stay active, after they both walked away with top
prizes in The People’s Movement competition.
Richard, 34, from Norfolk Park, won a brand new bike from Decathlon Sports
and Leisure Store, worth over £250. Barbara, 51, from Stannington,
won a three-month gym membership at Fitness Unlimited, courtesy of Sheffield
International Venues.
Paul Billington, spokesperson for The People’s Movement, said:
“We had a terrific response to our competition, and many of the
entrants were really positive about being active in Sheffield.
“I’d urge readers to check out The People’s Movement
website, www.thepeoplesmovement.co.uk,
which provides a wealth of information on sports and activities taking
place in the city centre and in local communities. The campaign aims to
show that normal, everyday activities, such as walking the dog, doing
housework, or taking the stairs instead of the lift, can help people across
the city to stay fitter and healthier.”
